Greetings and Introductions

Hello Everyone,

My name is Pete, but my friends call me mantrout.

I'm closing on my first home next month after 10 years of renting. It is a farmhouse style built in 1920, and I'm excited! I have experience in plumbing, framing and the general handy man arena. Hopefully I'll be able to build on these skills through experience!

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the house!

I'd love to hear how that nickname came about.

Thank you, glad to be here. There appears to many knowledgeable users on these forums.

I wish I could say the nickname came from some awesome story of me wrestling a viscous trout out of the water! It is just a play on words with my last name, I'm always switching letters in words and pronouncing things incorrectly and was a swimmer back in school. My buddys are a good group, and over the years we all ended up with nicknames one way or another. Now that I almost have a home I'll be borrowing all their tools!
