Greetings from the desert!!

Hi,

New homeowner poking around for projects to keep myself occupied. Father is a carpenter and I absorbed some of his knowledge but he lives on the other side of the country so not readily available to show me things. I have a mechanic background from the navy and am somewhat mechanically inclined. Just looking to avoid common mistakes and get some advice on things that I have no clue about. Like septic systems, landscaping, and electrical work etc.
