Greetings from Chicagoland!!!

Good morning fellow DIY'ers!!!
New member checking in here from the south burbs of Chicago.
I'm a union carpenter working in the industrial door industry for the past 15+yrs.

I've done plenty of renovations on my previous house, current house and plenty of interesting things during my career.

I've got plenty to share and probably some questions as well.
I'll get my profile filled out better during lunch break.

Attaching drywall to bottom of stairs
You're in Chicago. Is this how people build stairs up there?

That goofy stair is from the south suburbs----that's sure not typical construction in Illinois!

Didn't even have a Doorman living in NYC! Welcome fellow Gangsta! We all are you know. At least that is what people think and I think it best not to ever challenge their thoughts.

A lot of work is done under cover of darkness here. Trucks with excavating equipment are often followed by those with chemical barrels and finally a paving crew surfaces the alley all between 1 and 4 am. When the paving crew is left idle waiting they are enlisted to build stairs.

You have some problem with this you wish to discuss further? Guys at the office of the neighborhood Alderpersons love hearing from their constituencies and those, like you, who just have overall concerns. Swing by any office after closing for a chat.
