Default Don't really know what I'm doing!

We moved into a Levitt house in Hicksville NY 19 1/2 years ago. And if I knew then what I know now about this house I'd've ran not walked away. As it turns out I've had little choice but to become handy (sort of). I'll pretty much try my hand at anything. Unfortunately, I usually end up in over my head and it takes me forever to dig myself out. It doesn't help that I tend to be a perfectionist either.

I can relate to what you're saying - I think pretty much everyone on this forum has been at the stage where they thought "why did I ever start this job?!"

A few years ago, I was involved in building my own house and there were an awful lot of times when I thought I was going to sink without trace. With perseverance and a lot of encouragement from friends I managed to get there in the end.

After I finished, one friend remarked that I was really good at DIY. My response was that I had a whole house that proved testiment to the fact I knew nothing about DIY!

As GMA2RJC says, you probably know an awful lot more than you think you do! But if you don't, you've come to the right place for encouragement and advice. You're welcome to pool your ignorance with all of ours!
