DIYing it in Anaheim, CA

Howdy folks,
Me and my hubby are fixing up our 1987 condo we bought in 2009 with porcelain tile, carpet, paint, and eventually, concrete countertops for the kitchen and bathrooms. Just got the Buddy Rhodes DVD in the mail, very excited to learn all about working with concrete. We are paying someone to lay tile in our living area and kitchen, and then we are doing the bathrooms ourselves-as long as we can learn enough tricks of the trade to do it right.

Looking forward to working through & sharing our experiences with all of y'all!

-Nicole & Sean

Hi Nicole, I do residential and light commercial architectural design, basically anything that has to do with obtaining permits in the design and drafting and engineering field.

Andy.

Sounds good! Do you do any of the hands on construction work? I'm an AutoCAD and Sketchup user, love to design various things, need more experience with real life scenarios. Need to learn materials and what they are capable of... Pick up some tools and get my elbows working and my hands dirty!

No more hands-on work except for friends and my stuff.
I was a general contractor for 12 years and worked in a bunch of the trades before that so I am done with the knuckle-banging stuff.

Andy.
