My name is Lynn and I am indeed a DIY Gma from Kansas. My mother (who had 4 daughters and no sons) had to do all the DIY things around the house that didn't involve electricity (because my dad was an electrician), and so we all learned to help her make the best of a household full of girls living in a farm house. I too married a man who had no ability (or desire) to "make do" or create ways to get around problems, so carried on the legacy. Now that my children are grown, they are falling into the pattern of work-arounds, and I find myself helping them come up with innovative ideas for their problems or just their desire for change. That's why I'm here - looking for suggestions and help on issues I have yet to tackle. But I am ready to learn and help my children learn. Thanks for this website where we can get the help we need from those who have gone before.
