Question

Building in the Texas Hill Country

Hi everyone,
DH and I are building our 2nd/Retirement home in the Texas Hill Country. We are doing all the work ourselves. We were going to use the slab as the flooring , but are having second thoughts about it due to the inconsistent surface , temperature and hardness factors. Cost is an obvious factor since we are doing this out of pocket (don't want a mortgage payment). Anyone have any helpful input?

I don't have an suggestions on your floors, but I do want to say "welcome" from one (ex) hill country gal to another!

So you want to use your slab as a floor. What I have done in the past is use Epoxy. Range of colors also. Temperature now is a factor right now. Also which looks good is concrete staining. So what part of the hill country by chance.
