Another newbie!!

I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Steve and I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have scoured this site as an unregistered user but finally decided to become part of the family! I am a union construction laborer who works in heavy highway and bridge applications but has a pretty extensive knowledge of residential construction as well. My grandfather and father-in-law were both licensed contractors in the Pittsburgh area and my skills were honed with them. I also spent some time working with various residential contractors in the Pittsburgh area while I wasn't working in the union. 18 months ago I finally purchased my first home and have been slowly bringing it up to my standards (with proper permits and inspections of course!) I generally don't consider myself to have a specialty but am willing to offer my two cents where I think it may be helpful. Thank you so much for the opportunity to join your site and I hope to become a helpful member in the future.
