Hi all. My wife & I just bought our first house last winter. It was originally built in the 1870s and has since had a few additions put on. Due to the age of the house and the original construction, I've been very hard-pressed to find any straight walls or level floors (thus the name here).
Not looking to "straighten" everything, just finish some much-needed upgrades and the like. The previous owner put a ton of work into the interior, but our first task was ripping an old kitchen (turned into a craft room) to shreds. We started that about 2 hours after closing and...well...it's almost done!
We've also had to redo the entire yard. This woman had a serious thing for old-world gardens, which she let go unmaintained for about a year, and we want grass. We're about 20% done so far - just started at the sidewalk and we've been pushing back through the lot from there.
I'll be posting lots of questions, and hopefully can help people out with what limited experience I've had so far and how I managed to press through various problems.
