What Improvements Would You Like To See?

Are you referring to what guests see? (When you're not logged in?)

What Improvements Would You Like To See?

Visitors that don't open an account or sign-in see advertisings within the bodies of the posts that others don't see. These advertisings infer to that viewer that the author of that particular post endorses those ads.

I don't appreciate that either.

The very least the website could do is to add a disclaimer with each and every post saying that (we) the poster does not endorse any of the ads being displayed within his/her comment framework. Most of the ads are topic-specific when the software can pickup on a topic it will display a topic-related ad.
I don't think DIY Chatroom has any right to put words in my mouth or make it seem I am making a claim promoting a product that I am not in fact promoting.

The ads are something I do not have control of, but I will certainly pass on your thoughts about this.

True enough, and the ads have been complained about more than once in the past. Just because they have been around for years doesn't make them any less annoying.

I never new there were ads in the actual post itself. That is disappointing so you can add me to the list of those who don't like it. @Gary in WA I like your disclaimer in your signature. Do you mind if I borrow it to add to my signature.

Placing ads between the body of the post and above the signature.

Maybe...each time one of those ads receives a "click", the author of the post should get a paycheck just like the website does. That would be serendipitous to all involved.

You won't mind paying the server bills and IT support bills, etc then, right?

HERE WE GO..........

You know and I know, and everyone here knows, the site-costs are being paid handsomely. If this website wasn't profitable then Nathan wouldn't have spent years building it just to sell it and retire in Hawaii.

I participate in another site whose founder whines about how much it costs to operate his website all the time. He doesn't have anywhere near the activity this place has and still he doesn't miss a trip to Las Vegas at every opportunity he gets.

My son needs some new NIKE's, would someone please loan me $325 to get some new shoes for him?

Here's another thing you might be able to fix Cricket.

After making a post, it seems one has only about two minutes to edit the post before the editing feature goes away forever.

Sometimes it takes a while to create a post if one is searching out links and adding this and adding that to make it a better more complete publication.

So...why can't the "hang-time" be extended a little more to give one an opportunity to make a more complete entry from time to time?

I agree would be nice to have a bit more time to edit. I actually type my post in text edit first then past them just for this reason.

You actually have 30 minutes to edit a post.

Really seems shorter or maybe it takes me 30 mins to write the next one before I go back and check the old one
