Spring Black Friday Ads

As I have posted before, seeing the ads doesn't increase their revenue. It is based on ranking. Ranking is based on posts. They could give you the option of blocking most ads, it's in the software. We allow our posters to block almost all ads. It's an option in their profile. Maybe their people are not smart enough to know this, I don't know. But running all these ads will cost them revenue in the long run.

Spring Black Friday Ads

Found this Youtube video that gives a very basic description of how Google "ranks" a site in their search results. Thought it might be helpful background info. The first 2.5 minutes are the most important.

Like they use to? If you're not signed in, those other ones STILL cover part of the screen, due to the positioning of the login box.

The ad campaign has been disabled until the layout 'jumping' can be corrected.

Looks like the jumping is fixed for now.

The column that has the "Photos" and "blogs" panes (and ads between them) still overlap the first couple of posts, if you're not logged in.

I notice that now the black Friday adds go away once you log in. That's an improvement.

Overlaps even when you are logged in, if you can't use adblock.

AdBlock Plus & AdBlocker is what I use on Chrome and kills most ads on any website.

Yeah, but I can't use adblock. It interferes when I am in the admin panels on my forums.

I use profiles for Chrome for that reason I'm an admin for another forum and don't have any extension installed on that profile. It helps to keep all bookmarks and favorites in one place. I use seven profiles
