The new Contractor Talk is too hard to use. The ads take up a third of the page. Most of the comments that I read were negative. That was one of the easiet to read forums that I frequented. I wish them luck with it.

I tried it (the washing machine thingy) on my favorite (read only) pair of underwear, (the wife insisted on it.... go figure...) and surprisingly enough, they're not stiff any more!
Who knew?

I've read every comment on the new site and I can tell you that's not the majority opinion. We've had a few kinks which we are working on like resizing some large images and reformatting a couple things. There are always kinks with any new system.

It's probably a good thing that you're working out the bugs before bringing that format here then, huh?

After hearing of the changes I looked in and I don't see anything that I can't get used to over there. The advertising is given too much space in my opinion but that seems to be the way it is going to be.
Someone over there mentioned paying a membership fee to not get any of the advertising and I think I would also be interested in that concept.
I played around a little and everything that was there is still there I think. I don't care for drop-down-windows but oh well. Once you know things are hidden in the drop-downs it makes it more interesting. At first, it is kinda like playing the old Mario and Luigi games. Never did find the princess in either place.
I had two complaints and voiced them but don't know if anything will change.
1. My personal Spellcheck no longer works there and...
2. The very first window/post on each page contained four ads right in the middle of the frame. Don't see a need for that at all. Even on subsequent pages of the same thread the first post contains ads along with whatever comments were posted there.
It is human nature to resist change and I'm sure all of the discourse will soon play out and things will normalize once again.

I went to Firefox and added adblock. They are all gone.

You can also hold down the Ctrl key and turn the little scroll wheel on your mouse and it will work, at least it does for me.

I must be in the minority. I have problems finding the "New Posts" and acutully seeing the new posts. Then, I am unable to find the "unread posts". I end up leaving.

I only visit the flooring forum over there. There seems to be far fewer posts. I hope it's just a temporary blip.

I can't look at my old posts or threads any more so I don't check to see if any one has responded.
That's cut back the number of my posts---Mike---

Now that some time has past and I have been to CT several times since the change I am now thinking I don't like it over there any more. Just too much trouble to navigate. Viewing previous posts in a single thread now requires clicks that weren't necessary before and scrolling within a thread is out of the question.
The staggering effect of the individual posts is also confusing.
I don't want to see that format here now that I have thought about it.

You'll see it here sometime, Bud. It allows for more ads and so more income.

I guess it's been awhile since I've been there. It says there are 83815 new threads since my last visit.
I saw a poster over there. Goes by the name of Nathan. He looks kind of goofy so I figured it couldn't be the cool Nathan we have over here. Figured you guys would get a kick out of his pic.

I saw that picture in my local Post Office a few weeks ago.
