news on changes?

I'm still waiting for a fix on the right click problem.

ftm... how about an acknowledgement that it is even considered to be a problem?

If you are using Firefox, upgrade to version 22. It fixed it for me.

TT... What problem is that.... (I did not even know there was a right click function. (maybe does not apply to me... I'm on explorer)

Works in explorer too. If you are reading a forum and there's a bunch of topics you want to read, pressing CTRL plus a left click will open the link in a new tab. On a Mac it is the CMD key. When DIY was updated, it broke the ability to use the CTRL/CMD key. In order to open a link in a new tab, we had to right click the link, then select open in new tab. Lots of extra steps.

(had to restart the update was in the que)
Thanks for the info... I don't recall seeing it before

all is well

CTRL+ left click works for me.

Jim,

I am still not getting notices of new posts to threads.

And it is weird that interface to the site is totally different depending on whether I log in or not.

From my experience, these website flaws usually happen when web programmer is forced to take over a legacy project and nobody left clues as to the programming functionality. Changes just sort of get tacky spot welded.

I wish Juan luck!

At the level of suggestion...
how about using the sub-forum name in the url string?

Right now we're in "f36" which means nothing to anyone.

Since I run a forum, and do software changes, I would say that whoever is working on this forum is lost. And I don't think that they read the forum and know about all the problems created by the update. Many admins, never read their forums, they count on the mods to handle day to day, but the mods don't have access to the admin CP and most would not know how to make corrections, even with access.

Believe me Rusty, they know and have acknowledged the issues. Why nothing has been done about it, I have no clue.

SD, I will report this to Juan, I get notices on my Ipod of each post and only if a PM on my PC and Ipod. I wonder how things got straightened out over on contractor talk or if they did.

rusty baker 06-29-2013 12:37 PM

There are still problems over there. The only way I can post is with "quick reply". the regular reply box doesn't work. I know this so it doesn't affect me, but I wonder how many don't post because they don't know about it. Also, when I log in, there is a 30-40 second delay. Also, I cannot start a new topic.

rusty baker 06-29-2013 12:47 PM

And now I am shut out again, because the "quick reply" box is gone.
