New Forum suggestion for Mold Abatement

I see alot of topics regarding mold and moisture remediation. It seems to be a common problem which comes up often. Perhaps the amount of postings on this topic justifies a dedicated sub-forum? I think it would help people find their answers more effeciently, and also reduce the postings within the General Forum so that other less common problems can be found more readily.

Within these mold threads I see bad (and even dangerous) advice along with the good. Perhaps it would be helpful if there were a 'stickied' post within that dedicated forum to give DIY'rs some basic information regarding mold... what it is and the conditions that allow it to grow, how to remove it, what to do to prevent it etc. Then the forum itself could contain threads about specific homeowner situations such as wet basements, leaky pipes, etc.

New Forum suggestion for Mold Abatement

Mold is generally result of a lengthy water damage/moisture infiltration issue. Mold remediation is not a normal/routine/weekend type project, like alot of DIY subjects are.

I personally do not feel that Mold Remediation is a DIY project.

IMHO - It should be left to the Licensed/Certified Remediation Professionals. Most Home Owner's insurance policies may have a say in this too. (I know that is the case on commercial and multi-unit properties).
