PLease add an "abestos" or "lung dangers" "forum" to this chatroom. So much of what do-it-yourselfers do creates dust. And wherever there's dust there's the possibility of serious illness. Just a thought.

Not a bad idea, but that's why there are disclaimers. I have installed carpet and vinyl for almost 40 years and there are people constantly giving the wrong advice about such things. Read some of Bud Cline's comments. Bud is one of the most knowledgeable installers there is concerning tile and stone floors and I know he gets tired of people giving the wrong advice. But it happens on DIY forums. I corrected someone on the auto repair forum who gave the wrong advice and he does it all the time. It just happens. People should take what they read for what it is, an opinion. Some people want to contribute so much that they give advice on things that they know nothing about.

Disclaimers do a good job of removing people from responsibility, but I still think that more specific forums are needed regarding health and safety and so on. Disclaimers are general--they don't protect people from unknowingly removing harmful attic insulation, or sand asbestos floor tiles. That's just my opinion, though.

Clankpot--There are so many hazardous things in construction-(and the world in general) --that starting a forum for each worry would not be practical.
