Being a newbie here, I want to follow the rules,so are you allowed to put up links to other websites you may be on or know about? For an example I like chainsaws can I provide in a post to someone on here a link to a chainsaw website.Don't want to get banned.

Generally as long as it isn't spam it is usually OK
Sometimes its a grey line if the site is selling things
But when someone is only suggesting something that they had success with its OK
IE when someone makes 3 posts in a row all linking to the same site that is a problem

Ok because I'm not here to cause problems, only to ask questions and help where I can.One of the websites I would like to disclose has sponsers that sell arborist supplies and forestry equipment, how does that seem, okay?

Dude, I think it's all about context. If it's in a thread about trees or something it might be ok. I often site a forum that deals with hydronic heating - but only if someone's asking a question about steam heat.
