Hey Moderators!!!

Anybody else having trouble with the ads, photos, and blogs that are on the right side of the screen overlapping the type on posts so you can't read half the post? Ever since the site changed recently I have been running into this, not on every post you click on , just some here and there. Very annoying, can't read the post to determine what the person is asking. Please look into this and fix it.
thanks,
Mike Hawkins

Hey Moderators!!!

This has already been addressed in several threads- not a new topic by any means.

All I can say is that the Admins are aware of it. It's in their hands.....

X2.... E.... (On the theory of the sqeeking wheel.) If HD (advertisers) think they'll get more attention overlaying content, as far as I'm concerned. and I bet alot of others, I will develope nothing but ill will to them.... translated as use them as last resort.

Perhaps it's a programming issue here, but the concept is becoming prevalent in the internet.

Best

Hey Moderators!!!

Oversized pictures are now being re-sized automatically by the system which should solve the ads overlapping the post. It appears to have worked, at least from my screen.

This went right over my head Peter- sorry, but I find this ad thing somewhat humorous.

If I understand the basics to web advertising, the ads are selected by the website content, your browsing history, and a few other goodies- so--don't mention any store or product by name, and don't shop online. Who knows what ads will show up then

Hey Moderators!!!

Ron, it is still the same for me, ads still cover half the post unless I resize the screen.

Actually E.... I probably did not explain myself clearly. (my bad)

Advertising is the backbone (principal revenue stream) of the internet, and advertisers are ultimately the source that allows us to enjoy this and other sites.

Matter of fact, I actually enjoy the advertizing, be it on the internet or in print or broadcast... it keeps me up to date on product and new offerings.

My complaint, and maybe it is just me.... but I doubt so, is when advertizing interferes with content. This issue here, where you can't read the content, is perhaps a prime example.

Another prime example are sites that make you listen to a 10-15 second advertisement, before supplying content. They may collect their "hits", but when advertisers discover their "duration" is short when a hit walks away, and stays away, it will become a self defeating business proposition.

Advertisers (businesses) chooze how and with whom to advertise. So as consumers, if we adopt the attitude to avoid annoying advertizing, and patronize helpfull advertizing.... I think WE ALL WIN... both business, consumer, and advertizing agent (this site).

That's all I'm saying/proposing.

Best

Peter

I no longer have this problem- The images are showing smaller and with the "click here" option to enlarge.
In fact- the site seems to run pretty well for me now

I'll experiment and holler to ya

Thanks for your guys efforts to correct a programming glitch... I will continue to patronize those partys (advertizers/businesses) that basically provide a good site (not much different than one's that provide a good TV show.... principal isthe same)

E, that is what I do also, I increase the screen size to 110% and the ads will go completely away for me.

Increase or decrease, what % do you like to run?

Hey Moderators!!!

On my forum, we allow posters to disable the sidebar ads, it does not decrease income. Or if using firefox, you can use adblock and do the same thing.
