Helped Me points
There is a way to rate a "thread"s helpfulness. It is on a drop down menu, in which you rate it by a "star" count.
As far as the ratings of "individual members", in terms of their helpfulness, I think a person's helpfulness on this site speaks for itself. There are alot of very knowledgable and helpful members on the site. Just by perusing the forums a little, they are easily found. Even by posting a question, they are found.
Personally, I don't like the idea of individual ratings, as; even adults tend to get a little egotistical, and competative, when assigned a visible/public point, or grading system (it's sad, but common-place).
Example:
There are people who donate money to a charity anonymously, because they want to. Their "gift" is geniune, truly helpful, and from the heart.
There are people who donate money to a charity, for the added bonus of their name being read, published, announced, or even put on a plaque (and displayed).....Their motives, and their help, become questionable.
That's JMHO, others may feel differently...
