attach dryer vent hose

Help!!!

I have tried to no avail to attach the vent hose using a clamp. I cannot get the clamp tight enough to hold the hose on. I have tried to tighten with my fingers and plyers. Is there another way to attach the vent hose besides using that clamp???

Screws would hold it tight, but I've read that they could catch the lint and cause a clog. I use a good quality 3" wide duct tape. Make sure to have the outside of both pieces clean and lint free so the tape can adhere properly.

Many hose clamps have a nut that can be turned very tight (too tight in fact) using a nut tool. If you use duct tape to hold on the duct, be sure to use aluminum duct tape, as ordinary duct tape may catch fire, especially as it ages and gets brittle.
