Google is asking for a screen shot. If anyone sees this again and can grab one for me that would be great because it's not showing up when I browse the site. It the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard and paste it to a new image document.

I think the mods are doing a great job on this site...couldn't ask them to do a better job.

I did not mean to imply that the mods were not doing their job, just that since when I signed on one morning I saw 3 ads from the same poster. I have not 'pushed the report button' on the threads mentioned because I: 1) did not want to open a thread that was opbviously an ad and did not want to open myself to adware.
2) If it was a legitimate post, as I have seen some ads inserted, did not want to prevent a DYI'r from getting a response to their question.

I use Firefox with the Adblock add-on. IMO it's very effective in stopping all advertisements. Occasionally I need to update the filter it uses but it does a good job. The filter is a separate download that needs to be updated, occasionally.

When in doubt, report it. All reporting it does is call it to our attention so we can allow, edit, or delete the post/thread at our discretion in accordance with the site's posting rules.

I don't think there's any hazard in opening a spam thread, just never hit the links in those threads.

When in doubt hit report, report the user via PM to a moderator.

Hold down the control key and tap the print screen button on your keyboard. Then Click Start,Programs,Accessories, Paint

Now the paint program is open.

Click Edit Menu, click paste. Now you can click file, and click save, save the file where ever you want, then you can upload it like any other photo.

I suspect these users have adware installed on there local computers that is driving these adds. I have viewed the site in FireFox and I.E. and have not seen even 1 floating or pop-up add or any sign that there are any. These are not the kind of adds that google typically places - they normally only do fixed position ads.

Sounds like a java / cache issue to me, I bet if you clean your cache nightly you'll never see anything like that again.

In the old days of the internet ( Internet is only 10 years old ) , there was not so much "java" "javascript " etc , now pretty much every site has this and depending on what type of PC you have will depend on how much it affects you.
