Adding quotes to replies


Hi all. Well, I finally figured out how to add quotes when replying to posts. I see a lot of members quoting entire posts in their response so I'm just assuming I was not the only one who didn't know. So, if it helps, here is how to add a quote:

Click on the quote icon in the post. When the screen comes up you will see the original post in your reply window. At the front of the post you will see [ quote=usernamexxxxx] and at the end of the post you will see [ /quote] These characters have to stay in your reply. Then you can delete any portions of the text by right clicking and highlighting text which you don't want to quote and hit the delete key. To add your reply place your cursor at the end of the quote and hit return until you have a new line to type in.

And if you go to the bottom of any of these forums you will see a small window that tells you "BB code is on".

Click in that message to see a whole bunch more things you can do here with those 'brackets'.
