80 year old house, kitchen floor mess

Bought house 2 years ago, laminate flooring in kitchen now falling apart. Lots of nasty layers of old flooring underneath. Smells. How do we determine if subfloors also needs replaced?

How about you post some pictures and let us know what's there now for a subfloor, let us know if there's a slab, crawl space, full basement under it.
