ZipLevel, by Technidea

Does anyone here have experience with the altimeter measuring tool by Technidea? The model I have is a "ZipLevel Pro 2000". We used it for checking the integrity of foundations while we were doing home inspections some years ago. The unit still operates and gives accurate readings if zeroed often. The problem with the unit is that it flashes "cord" on the display and as said, it must be zeroed often. I've sent an email to the mgfr and they will service the unit for $180 + parts if needed.
My question here is; has anyone gone through this process and if so; were you satisfied with the service? Has anyone here either serviced a ZipLevel or had someone else service one?
