wiring diagram for hedge trimmer batteries

I have a Craftsman 24 volt cordless hedge trimmer model no. 240.74802. I ordered the 2- 12 volt batteries from a web site, since Sears was so expensive. Once I received them and started to install, forgot how they were connected since it had been a couple of months ! The batteries inside are connected with 3 wires--black, red and green. The manual does not show the wiring hookup and on the Sears part site, it does not either..If anyone could tell me how it connects or email me a picture of how they are wired , I would really appreciate it...
