What type of sander to buy? Help Please
So I only have the money currently to get one sander. I would like to know which type should I purchase. My choices are a random orbit sander or the 1/4" palm sander that has a square surface.
I want to:
1. Remove chipping paint from wall.
2. Sand down plaster after repair a hole in wall
3. Sand down wood and remove finishes from relative small objects (no do an entire floor)
4. Round edges
Which one is the better buy for the first one? Thanks.
Get yourself a random orbit sander---There is a world of difference between that and a palm sander.
Many years ago I was sanding some doors with a palm sander and a neighbor lent me his new random orbit -----I never have used the pad sander again.
I have 5 Porter Cable sanders and have been pleased with the machines.---Mike----
I too think it will be a better one.
I'd look at the Black and Decker hot-rod belt sander. It is cheap and has a real small front roller with a flip up shield so you can get in real close.
