What did i use--i can't remember the tool????????

I bored a hole in a concrete wall 15 years ago,and i made a perfect round 1
" hole.Not any burrs, smooth inside -busted out the other side, but no matter.I have looked everywhere in my tools and can't --now come up with the suitable i used before. Can you point me in the right dircetion on this, the hole is for 1" copper water line.thanks for what you may have bob s

because it busted out the other side, I'm guessing you used a hammer drill. If it was really smooth probably a Quad tipped bit ( a concrete bit with 4 carbide cutters instead of the usual 2)

Or you can use a dry core bit if you want it SUPER smooth

Does this[ bottom core bit come in sizes to fit the standard, 1/2" drill motor, and where do i find this one?At a hardware maybe? It could have also been the prior 4-cutter type.....but---- yes it was probably not drilled by me .But rather, the new furnace guys, that installed a cable thru this particular hole.No wonder i can't find these in my tool chest, theres everything else in there BUT! these

for the size you need you should be able to find something that will fit in a standard 1/2 chuck, but for anything bigger you'll probably need an SDS, max, or spline. These core bits can be a bit pricey though, so you might want to call around and see if you can rent one if you only have a couple holes

In addition to rent a core bit, you can buy an economical one, and pay attention if it is sharp enough.

There is always the old star drill, tapped with a hammer and rotated between strikes, works very well and are inexpensive.
