Hi all. Has anyone used the Franklin Sensors ProSensor 710 stud finder? Its design and method of detecting studs, both wood and metal, seem much different than those of conventional stud finders. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. CW
I've tried a few different stud finders and they all sucked. I always end up just looking for nails in baseboard or feeling the wall for a drywall seem, or just tapping with my nuckle. Once I think I've located a stud I drive in a brad to confirm. Every stud finder I have tried over the last thirty years has been a piece of crap.
I own the Franklin and a few others. The Franklin works best out of any of the stud finders. Frequently it lights up more lights (about six of them light up) for a 1 1/2" board. Remember to place your nail in between the middle lights and you will hit the center every time. If you nail toward the outer lights you might miss the stud.
