small square

I recently bought a Porter Cable portable table saw and have finally had the time to play with it and make a few things. One thing that I noticed is that, because of the safety guard, I cannot get a square on the blade after a bevel cut. My squares are too large and the guard interferes with it. Any suggestions on a small square? Thanks.

I would look for a 6" try square or possibly a combination square. If the 6" steel blade is still too long, find your hacksaw. (It would also work on Joe's speed square)

Maybe you could use one similar to this small one for 90 and 45 checks. 4x2x1.3 inches

I make 'setting blocks' on my chop saw---this lets me bend down and set the blade to the block---for critical settings I will make a test cut and check that with the fancy square----

Thanks for the great suggestions! There are a few on there that I think will work great!
