shrink wrap

Perhaps a bit off topic, but, in the area of tools, I thought I would share that a roll of 3-1/2" or 4" (I can't remember right now) shrink wrap has become one of my new best friends. I picked it up for something that I can't recall, but have found it handy for a number of things. Depending on the circumstances, sometimes it conforms better than a strap for attaching small quanties of drip edge, small trim, etc. to a ladder or 2x for transport, and this past week I helped a buddy remove some bifold doors that will be reused later, so I used the wrap to secure the tracks and hardware together.

I would guess you are using stretch wrap (or stretch film), not shrink wrap.

Shrink wrap requires a heat source to shrink it.

And I would guess that you're probably right! Now that you mention it, stretch wrap makes more sense. Anyway, it's clear, you wrap it around whatever, tear it off, and tuck the end in.
