scroll saw trouble


i have a craftsman 16 " table scroll saw.i was using it for a while off an on last night. i tried turning it on one last time and it did not work. the light on the side worked, i can't figure out why its not working.
can anyone help

How much use has it had? Perhaps the motor's connections have vibrated loose? Or maybe the motor's brushes need to be replaced (although I think the motor would still run).

Can you determine if the on/off switch for the motor is in good shape?

With the saw unpugged, remove the blade and try again, you may have a linkage problem, binding blade... If this is relatively new, can you take it back to Sears for an exchange?

scroll saw trouble


I do not work on Craftsman, but I repair a lot of Hitachi, Delta and Dewalt Scroll Saws and it sounds like it could be a number of different things. Something as simple as brushes (if you have them) to something more complicated as the wiring inside. It sounds like something is just not making the connection. It would probably be good to contact Craftsman and see what direction they would send you in.
