Porter Cable Cordless/Discontinued??

After a fair amount of research and for a number of reasons which I won't go into here, I just ordered a Porter Cable Kit; 18V lithium drill plus 18V. driver and light. Just got an email from a DeWalt dealer telling me that PC was discontinuing their cordless line and I should really be looking at his product.
Only thing I could pull up on PC discontinuing the cordless line is dated 2008. So what's the deal? To tell the truth I'm more concerned about how Dewalt was able to connect me to my PC searches, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
Have I missed something here? Thought I had done a decent job checking Consumer Reports and a number of on line reviews.

thanks,
Rob

Porter Cable Cordless/Discontinued??

DeWalt, Porter-Cable, Delta and Black & Decker are all owned by a common company. Porter-Cable is still listing battery powered tools in their product line, so I find it hard to believe they are dropping anything, but you never know today.
