I have the very simple blue plastic set-up. It was probably only $40 or less, but money well spent IMO. Once you have it, you'll be pocket screwing everythign together.

If I used it professionally, I'm sure I'd spend more on a better set-up though.

I'd second that.

Bought the two hole jig about 18 months ago and love it. Fast and easy to use and definitely a very strong joint. My only regret has been on some larger projects that I didn't get one of the higher capacity models they offer.

I bought the original kreg set when they first came out. A couple years later they made some nice improvements and I bought the master set. Use them both. Wonderful tool, fun and easy to use. Once you start using it and realize how easy it is, you'll find many more uses for it.

I'm a contratctor and use my Kreg jigs all the time when building cabinets. I love them, very strong joints. But I would recommend getting a bigger kit, not just the "starter" model if you are going to be doing some bigger projects with it. You get quite a bit more value out of the larger kits.
