Panasonic impact driver chuck failure

I have a Panasonic impact driver I've used about 5 years. Recently the bit got stuck in it and won't release out. It's one of those sliding release chucks.
Anyone have any experience with this, or suggestions about how to free the stuck bit?

Thank you

I have used some wood spade bits in my Maikta with a similiar chuck, and sometimes they get stuck, but i think it's because of the heat making them expand. When i need to get them out fast i sometimes knock them lightly against something a few times and they come out.

not sure if this is the same issue you are having

will the collar move?could be a worn hex shaft partially turned in the chuck

maybe from too much downwards impact

Stuck Chuck

Yup ... I had a corded unit that had the same problem. I think it was because I really abused the tool. I also had to tap the bits to get them out. I finally had to retire the tool because the chuck was spinning lop-sided ... worked fine as flag waving tool but didn't drill holes worth a ... well, you get the picture. It's probably the beginning of the end for the tool.
