Mower does not start after warming

Toro 22" 22351, 3 yrs old, 6.5HP B&S 'guaranteed to start' always did until I took it for service. Now won't start when warm.

After several attempts on warm it will sputter, idle rough for a bit and stall.

Looks like a fuel issue. The shop says they cleaned the carb. They want me to bring it in. I don't trust their skills anymore.

Any idea how I can fix?

When did you take it in for service? How many times have you ran it this spring/summer?

Brought it back yesterday. Always used 3-4 times a month. I put fresh gas when I brought it home yesterday. I drained the tank before adding new fuel.

I would most definitely take it back if you can't seem to find the problem. Worked fine when you took it in, should work better when you take it home. If it were months ago I would do some troubleshooting, but with it being a day they obviously did something to jack it up and they should be responsible for repair free of charge. Maybe just something simple and you and them will laugh about it afterwards. Hope it goes well.

It could be plug resistor loose on plug.or ignition module

Did you replace the filter? Even though you take it for service don’t assume they will check everything. Check to see if you have oil on your spark plug, if you do, pull on the cord to see if oil is coming out the hole and keep pulling until all oil is out. Replace with new plug, add new oil, pull again, should start and smoke like a b**** but that’s ok because its burning the oil.
