Looking for suggestion for good home use lazer level

Going to try to put up some closet shelving and Im thinking Im probably going to need a level. I currently dont own one. Im sure it would be good to have an old fashion liquid bubble level, dont know if theres a term for them, but I like the idea of having that visible red line that laser levels do. Anyone know anything about these?

Yeah. You can spend from $25.00 to 3 or 4 Thousand for a laser level depending on how accurate you want to be and what kind of features you want and how far you need to cast a usable line. For a one time use in hanging a few shelves, a 3 foot spirit level is all you really need. If you insist, then look on Amazon. They have a huge selection in a variety of prices.

The one suggestion I would make is be sure it is a self leveling unit.

Well I definitely wouldnt say it would be a one time use. This is just the first job where Ive needed one. But I would also say I dont need a professional one, Im just a home owner that tries to do DIY when I can. But when I buy a tool I look at it as an investment that will payoff as time goes on.

One thing Ive been wondering about is how you use these home self leveling laser levels. It appears you fix them to the wall somehow, how do they stick to the wall or what do you use to stick them to the wall?

Most use double faced tape----not good for the walls----rotary lasers use a tripod---which is good except in small areas---there you need the optional wall bracket

I have a simple Dewalt, DW087K I think, that cost about $100. Does everything I need it to do in my DIY efforts. The magnetic mount is very useful, just tack a strip of metal to the wall and adjust the level's height.
