Dremel

What are the pros and cons of Dremel Wired Vs Wireless. Any drawbacks of wireless power wise?

What do you plan on doing with it?
Cost of replacement batterys and a shorter running time come to mind.

Nothing heavy duty just around the house chores. Cutting small holes, Sanding, Grinding. Whats the run time mainly on them if you know.

I have a corded one so I can not help you out on the run times.

I would go corded.....

A Dremel is one of those tools that you don't use very much....I use mine maybe twice a year....hence, if it had a battery....the battery wouldn't last long. When you get ready to use it, you will most likely have to charge the battery....

Rechargeable batteries need to be used and cycled regularly to give the the longest life....sitting idle for 6 months at a time kills them quick.

If your going to use it several times a week....and it needs to be portable...then go battery.,...

If i went cordless would i get the same power as the corded one. That's my main concern. The one im looking at is the Dremel 8220. Also whats the main difference between the 1/28 or 2/28 models.

I would consider a multi tool for around the house it seems it would have a lot more uses.

corded is most reliable and usually more powerfull. but cordless can be real handy at times. dremel = corded.

I've had my Dremel for so many years now I can't remember getting it,
It's one of the most useful tools
And not once can I remember thinking I wish I had a cordless Dremel
Go for a corded one

Catdaddyxx 04-24-2013 03:03 PM

I've had both. The cordless one was next to worthless with a short run time and inferior speed. I now have only my corded and will never buy a cordless one again.
