I'm looking into getting a Dremel tool for around the house they are very multipurpose tools. What are the advantages/disadvantages of cord vs. cordless. Can a cordless tool still use all the same attachments as the corded. Mainly looking at using the planer attachment for some doors around the house that are sticking. Thanks for any advice on the tool.

They all use the same bits---

I would get a corded one---batterys are killed with time-- for a seldom used tool--corded is best

Ditto what Mike said.
I have one of each. The cordless one is usually dead (or dies halfway through the job). And since I normally use it in or around the house, an outlet is always nearby.
The only time I use the cordless is to trim the dog's nails.

Wow, I really like the Dremel tool especially the
cutting wheel Kit but I'd be apprehensive
about getting the Planer Attachment for doors.
Read the customer reviews on the Amazon link.

They really make a mess. I would feel much better
using a conventional low-cost plane,
especially if any doors have to be removed.
If just a little touch up is required, here is a little $5 Tool.

Texas, Congratulations on your Dremel tool.
You also might like this Dremel attachment
to sharpen a mower blade
also you can forget that little wrench if you get a Dremel Keyless Chuck

I have that same kit and I'm very happy with it.

Thanks coconut pete. I look forward to using it around the house for projects. By the way Club Dread is a classic movie.

Thanks! Fewer and fewer people recognize references to that movie nowadays.
