Dewalt 20v Hammer Drill
I have an opportunity to purchase a Dewalt 20v Hammer Drill bare tool for $80. I already have 2 3.0ah batteries, so I'm covered there. I like the thought of having a hammer drill without a cumbersome power cord, but am not sure if it's worth the investment. I would use it as my main drill, I presently have a 18v LI Skil Drill that's over 4 years old.

Hell yes. Buy it. The 20v has awesome torque and who doesn't love that yellow?

Sounds like a decent price. Just have charged batteries and a quick charger on hand for a cordless hammer drill. If it will be your go to general purpose drill it should be fine for most uses. There is something to be said for corded hammer drills if going into masonry or concrete for anchors and things. Cross that bridge when you come to it I guess?

I do already have a corded hammer drill for heavy duty uses such as concrete and masonry

IMO the choice would depend on how you would use the drill. Battery power is nice but batteries loose their charge and eventually need replacing. Corded drills last longer than cordless ones do. I wouldn't want to be without a cordless drill and they do seem to get better everytime you buy a new one but heavy tasks are usually best done with a corded unit.
