Craftsman Stapler

I neighbor loaned me his Craftsman "Dual Power Heavy Duty" hand stapler to help with an upholstery job my wife is working on.
Sometimes it works, mostly it fails to "pick up" a staple and I have to tap it with a small hammer before the main spring will engage. I tried spraying it with some WD-40 but no go.
If it were mine I'd take it apart, but since I'm not sure I could get it back together again I hesitate to go that route. I did pop one of the the circlips
(I eventually found it on the far side of the garage on the other side of my car) but the pin it was holding felt to be under strong spring pressure which made me think that I might have a hard time getting it back together.
So, the questions:
If I take it apart will it be impossible to reassemble?
and, Is there anything else I can do without taking it apart?
Thanks,
Rob

Craftsman Stapler

Don;t take it apart. I have several I have tried over the years and they are a pain to reassemble.

Just go and buy one for yourself.

Thanks. That confirms my suspicion and you don't have to tell me once.
