Central Pneumatic 2hp 8 gallon oil lubricated air compressor

I was wondering if I could use the Kobalt synthetic blend compressor oil ISO-100 instead of the recommended SAE 30 weight non detergent oil?

I sold industrial coolants and lubricants for the metalworking industry for 15 yrs. Older machinery that typically used mineral based oils were seldomly converted to synthetics. The reason is that some synthetics can soften older seals and cause leaks. Don't know for certain if it would be an issue for your compressor. Does the mfg have tech service hot line? Without a factory approval I would stick with the original factory recommendation. (IMO)

And save a ton of money by just using 30 weight oil.
