B & D chuck

I went cheap and got the B & D that HD sells for $49. Corded 1/2 inch chuck 7 amp. I find it has adaquate power for mixing thin set but am dissapointed with the chuck performance. The chuck tends to loosen up and needs retightening. All the 1/2 drills I looked at were keyed. Is there a drill with a beter performing chuck or is this as good as it gets in the keyed chuck variety. I really can't justify spending a lot since the drill isn't going to be used that much. Can I get a better holding chuck for 20 dollars more in a Porter Cable?

I was taught to tighten a chuck first at one hole then do the other two. You could also look into replacing the chuck with one made by Jacobs.
