Anyone Have An Idea How To Fix Stuck Bit In A Cordless Screwdriver?

Its driving me nuts..

I have this drive: BLACK & DECKER 2.4-Volt Cordless Rechargeable Screwdriver

After borrowing it to my friend, I noticed the bit looked really short.. long story SHORT, he must have lost the original that came with it and used another one.. Now its basically shoved in to the point that the phillips crosshead is barely poking out of the drive end..

Any ideas on how to get it out?

Unlock the chuck, then use a pair of pointed nose Vice Grips to try and get ahold of the bit from the side. You may have to do it a bit at a time.

My apologies good sir..

How do I unlock the chuck on this model? I am not seeing any way to do so?

THanks!

There is no lock that can be undone.
The bits held in place with a steel ball and metal clip.
Just going to have to use needle nose plyers and pull it straight out.

A small dab of oil, pair of pliers to grip the bit, pair of pliers to grip the socket.

Twist the bit a few times either direction, then see if the bit will pull out.

It is actually pressed on during assembly. If you pull it off, it tends to break the plastic fingers holding it on the shaft that is the switch.

Try giving it a good tap on a hard surface. It can help break loose any friction holding it in place. I have to do this regularly on my impact drivers. Then as said use some pliers if needed.

The problem is that this tool was not designed that way.

Needle Nose Pliers or Needle Nose Vice grips always work.
