33º vs 35º Nails Dilemma
Heres the dilemma. I ordered a Bostich MCN150 Joist Nailer. When I went to buy nails for it; all I could locate locally were GRIPRITE brand nails. Heres the problem: Griprite nails are 33º and are labeled to fit the Hatachi and Pasolode Joist Hanger nail Guns; the Bostitch is labeled to use 35º nails. I went to the bostitch website and the Bostitch Nails are labeled to be compatible with the Hatachi and Pasolode. A phone call to Bostitch Technical support was fruitless; their answer was "we recommend the use of Bostitch nails". They could not answer why their 35º degree nails were labeled to work in a competitors gun that used 33º nails.

Anyone have any experience with Joist nailers?

Dilemma solved. Sent BOSTITCH gun back. Purchased a Grip-Tite gun from my local tool dealer. Never received a phone call back from Bostitch Customer support
