Wood Threshold or no threshold?

We are about to remove carpeting from the bedroom floors to reveal the oak floors beneath. The doors to the rooms were originally shortened to accommodate the carpeting. Is it acceptable to install oak thresholds in the doorways to the rooms and to the closet doorways within the rooms as well? Or...can/should the doors themselves be lengthened? Suggestions please! Thank you!!

I think that may be just a preference
I myself dislike most thresholds
The problem with a bedroom threshold is that you may trip over it on the way to the bathroom in the night
Or...in the case of my wife...at any point during the day

How far off the floor are the doors? If you have hot air heat then you should have some space under the doors. I have never seen thresholds used for interior doors.

Unless they were shortened a whole lot, I doubt if it's enough to worry about. I suggest to pull the carpet and see what you think before doing anything.
