Window AC

I have cathedral ceilings in my living room and was thinking of installing a window A/C on the wall that is adjacent to my attic space that has a ridge vent . Is this OK as far as code and everything else involved ?

My condolences to your AC. I'm sure her husband was a good man.

I am not sure about code, but the airflow wouldn't be that good so it would be very inefficient. And you would have to deal with the condensation drain.

I'd try a mini split.

I would enhance the ability to extract the rising hot air up their with some increased ventilation. Put the cooling unit lower. Hot air rises; cool air falls. The output of the AC unit is going to try to sink.

They make some nice ridge vent turbine units that even generate a bit of electricity should you happen to have a place to store it.
