Will Goof Off work on these fiberglass guages?

Hi, Great forums!

I am cleaning up a bathtub and I have a couple marks on my shower walls and was wondering how I could repair them. I was told Goof Off may work. Those little black marks in the photo above the hand rail (not the mildewy caulk below) are dug into the surface a bit. They are like little pock marks. Any idea what may work to fix them or at least cosmetically repair? Thanks a lot.

Welcome to the forum jojoma!

Goof Off or Goo Gone both are great at removing adhesive residue, tar, sticky stuff, and so on. It (Goof off) *may* clean the divot in your fixture but it won't repair it. It appears that the towel bar holder is porcelain, is that correct? I found this product for fixing porcelain chips.

Please note that I have no experience with this product so I cannot vouch for its performance.

I Googled for "porcelain chip repair" and came up with a few repair products. You'll have to determine what's best for your needs. I hope this helps.

Are those "burnmarks" from a bather's cigarette ashes?
If so, they won't come up

I don't know of a fill-in off-hand

Thanks for the reply. It's not porcelain, as in what a toilet is made out of. I checked out the porcelain repair product though and I liked the term "glaze" that was used. I think I need a fiberglass glaze. I think the marks have been there for a while but were covered up with something that matched the surrounding fiberglass. Perhaps paint.
