Where to get door handle small parts?

Hello, Happy Holidays!

On several of my interior doors, I am missing the small silver ring depicted in the pictures. I don't know the manufacturer of the door handle. Does anyone know where I can find these things? The major stores seem to sell only complete door handle sets.

Try your local locksmith, they usually throw this stuff away. They may just give them to you for the good will.

A local Lockshop should be able to help you. Take the whole thing in with you. You'll probably have to buy complete replacement latches versus just the ring pictured. That still may be cheaper than replacing everything but price it both ways.

What you have is a drive in for fast installation but once you locate the type, you could get the mortise version and chisel for the faceplate.

Assuming the house was all done at one time, check the exterior doors for any brand names that may help.

Taking the latch out may be fun.. Since they are drive in, some brands dont come out easy.

The rings are usually spot welded, or part of the manufacturing process. You will most likely have to purchase new locksets, or new latches. Usually, this happens with cheap contractor grade parts.

I don't think you will be able to replace just the ring, but you can easily get a new latch barrel from a local lock supplier, big box store or most larger chain hardwares, like ACE.

Okay, thanks for the help. I'll try a lock shop but not expect much. I anticipate buying all new hardware in the next year anyway... it's surprising that my wife has put up with the fake polished brass look for so long.

If your planning on replacing all the hardware within a year or so then I would suggest go ahead and do it now versus pacthing what you have.

Parts in the lock world get very little discount versus the whole component.

I think what you have is the F line Schlage leverset and the list price on the latch alone is around 14 bucks.

For 25-30 bucks you can get entire new handlesets with the updated lifetime scratch resistant finish.

Price it both ways and see how it turns out.
