Where to get 2" to 1-1/4" hose adapter for vac?

Looking everywhere and having trouble finding it. I found some universal ones with step downs, but they have mixed reviews about what sizes they actually fit. Searching is tough because the numbers can be written in so many ways. Figured I'd ask here first. Thanks for any help.

If this is for a Central Vac. system, they use standard whit PVC. You just need to get the adapter in the plumbing section a your local hardware store, or plumbing supply house.

It's for a dustless drywall sanding setup. Oneida dust deputy to Marshalltown sander and shop vac.

Most Big Box Hardware stores have the stepped adapters.

Thanks. I ended up ordering two different ones that say they are 2.25 to 1.25. Figure one will work or at least be close enough that I can tape it. I don't trust the step ones, but thanks.

Some woodworking suppliers like Woodcraft or Rockler may have the right attachments.

Adapters are a real pain. Some list the size as OD...some ID...other just choose a random size. I have in the past taped some, cut slices in others with the band saw and used a heat gun. Lastly, I have used a belt sander on the outside of a couple of pieces to thin em down a smidgeon.

Good luck.

I received two of the 4 I ordered and made them work by adding some rubber bands as gaskets. Working well so far. I'm hoping the other two are a closer fit when they arrive, but not getting my hopes up.

MTStringer, nice setup. How do you like the Dust Deputy? Seems to be removing 99% of my drywall dust before it gets to the vac.

Also, I have ShopVac that looks identical to yours except for the color. It didn't come with a cap for the exhaust port. What purpose does that serve?

Mike, the Dust Deputy works great. Very little makes it into the shop vac. I don't have a clue on the cap. I have never taken it off. Maybe it is for wet vac service,,,just guessing.

Never mind, looked again and my vac is different.
