Where to begin???

I'm at the first steps to home improvements. My question is this: should begin with the windows, roof, or fumigation?

Ayuh,...... Without a Roof,... You don't have much of a House, cause it'll Rot to dust in no time,....
So,... I'd start There.....

What are you Fumigating for,..?? Critters,..?? Bugs,..?? Mold,..??

My house is very old; I have not fumigated in 15 yrs. My main concern is termites. I currently have vinyle siding; and the entire inside is Knotted Pine. I believe the outter (under the siding) is 12" wide overlapping wood (for lack of a proper term). I believe there to be no insulation in the walls. Also, the entire house is vaulted ceilling. I have confirmed, there is no insulation under the roof. Although, I have not seen signs of termites in the house; I have been fighting them on the patio post.

Yes, I actually bought this place in 1988. I got the house and the lot next door. I'm single, so the lack of confort didn't matter to me much. I can't knock it down and rebuild; so I just want to make it a little more comfortable.

I guess it depends on just how deep you want to go,....

There aren't any Termites up in this country, so I can't give any advise about them,.....

As for the Roof,+ Windows,.....
Like I said,.... If the Roof is Leaking,... That's where I'd start.....
And,....
In my mind,... If you're living in an Uninsulated house,....Putting insulated Windows in wouldn't make the most sense to me.....

I love the look of knotty pine,.... So I'd attack any issues from the outside,.....
But that's just My opinion.....

enjoy the last 4 years (Dec 21, 2012) or so .....
Question is ...what's goin' get it first...

I once had the idea of stripping the outside walls and replace the windows, electrical, insulate, stucco, maybe add some stone facing.
However I think I have to agree with you Bondo. I should start with the roof.
JGarth; I plan on retiring in ten years. This house will be paid in five yrs. I don't see the sense in purchasing a new home now. Selling this home; will not buy me a new home for cash. I'm very comfortable with $1K payments. Otherwise, I would just let it go.
