What type of tubing should I use for the drain line of the softener?

Any tips? Should I just get that clear plastic tubing? 1/2"? Larger?

Appreciate any info!

Most come with a drain line, I've never seen one with a 1/2" fitting.
Most just use polyflo tubing.
Clear plastic will harden up.

In My home the softener drain is routed into the water heater closet in the garage and dumps into the drain with pvc and a stand off..
